Dog: God Spelled Backwards

Image
Dogs are always there...people not so much.   Humanity lets me down on a pretty consistent basis. I accept that. Dogs do not.   Dogs live in the moment, they are always present...in this moment.  People could learn a lot from dogs; they are great teachers.

A Drop of Blood and Holy Water....what it takes to make a dog.

Last night I dreamed of Fritz, my beloved Miniature Schnauzer, who died last December.  I have had a broken heart and a sad wanting to see my sweet boy every moment of everyday since I lost him.  Last night I saw him very clearly...and I watched him morph into Joe...my beloved Miniature Schnauzer who I rescued in July.  Joe, like Fritz, is a classic salt and pepper Mini Schnauzer and his temperament and personality are a lot like Fritz's were: he's cool, calm and can be a bit dismissive and judgemental of me when I am having one of my cranky moments... In the dream I was talking to people I do not know outside of the dream realm and I told them I took a drop of Fritz's blood, mixed it with holy water and created Joe.  It was a beautiful dream.  I did not want to wake up because I wanted Fritz to still be here...with me...and Joe.  But at least I was able to see Fritz..he looked just as cute and stout as ever and he was doing well over there on the other side.  Fritz, m

“There is very little from my childhood that physically remains; most places now only exist as  reverent memories..this place is one of them; the San Jacinto Monument.  It was a regular destination with my grandparents when they just wanted to get out and go for a ride…which was all the time.  I grew up in a car, always going somewhere, always in motion, never settled. The Monument calls out to me..it houses cherished reminiscences of my Mama and Papa, both now gone.” V. L. Mobley

Nature Neutralizes Humanity's Omnipotence

Image
“The things we see in nature cannot be created from original design by people.  Try as we may, as much as we humans like to think we are in charge of the universe, that we are omnipotent…we are not.  For as many things that the species of man can accomplish, it is incapable of creating, from scratch, those things we see in nature. We can replicate it, make copies of the tree or flower from a seed or cutting but cannot create it from the point of origin because it is not our design…it is God’s design.  For as simple as it may appear to design and create a flower, it would prove too complex an endeavor for humanity to achieve. We overthink and complicate the most simple, mundane and insignificant things: instead of war, it could very well be mankind's attempt at building a daffodil that could bring about it’s undoing. Within the blueprint of the design of the flower there is an unknown component, an ingredient, a formula…something not intended for reveal.  Nature is perf

Writing Redux...Again.

I have been writing too much on Facebook and not enough here...and I know why: people read my posts on Facebook.  No one reads my posts here because there hasn't been anything written  on this blog for a very long time.  Why would anyone tune into when there is nothing new to see? That's about to change because I feel my writings will be better served in this forum.  I am a writer..a writer writes. But not on Facebook.  Writing a post is a different process than writing a blog or a book: yes, it about capturing the attention of friends but it's also about getting attention...perhaps even acknowledgment and acceptance.  While these attributes certainly apply to a blog, there is more opportunity for fluidity and expression here; it also requires dedication and discipline with respect to one's want for writing.  I am going to try and become the dedicated and disciplined writer I know I am. Besides, I have a lot of things stored up to write about. So stay tuned.
