"It was during one of my random wanderings that I discovered a very strange, somewhat Jurassic-looking place, complete with mossy trees and a green pond. The only things missing from this weird landscape were alligators and Tyrannosaurus Rex. I almost expected to encounter one or the other...perhaps both." - V. L. Mobley

“As a child I traveled the road that cuts through the Battleground. On this particular day I sensed that it might be quite a while before I might see it again, perhaps never. On this day I was chasing ghosts; the ghosts of departed family members, the ghosts of those who fought for Independence...the ghost of myself as the little girl peering out the window and wondering what the world was like beyond the borders of my childhood.” V. Last night I dreamed of Fritz, my beloved Miniature Schnauzer, who died last December. I have had a broken heart and a sad wanting to see my sweet boy every moment of everyday since I lost him. Last night I saw him very clearly...and I watched him morph into Joe...my beloved Miniature Schnauzer who I rescued in July. In the dream I was talking to people I do not know outside of the dream realm and I told them I took a drop of Fritz's blood, mixed it with holy water and created Joe. It was a beautiful dream. I did not want to wake up because I wanted Fritz to still be here...with me...and Joe. But at least I was able to see Fritz..he looked just as cute and stout as ever and he was doing well over there on the other side. Fritz, m

“There is very little from my childhood that physically remains; most places now only exist as reverent memories..this place is one of them; the San Jacinto Monument. It was a regular destination with my grandparents when they just wanted to get out and go for a ride…which was all the time. I grew up in a car, always going somewhere, always in motion, never settled. The Monument calls out to me..it houses cherished reminiscences of my Mama and Papa, both now gone.” V. L. Mobley
